Blackjack

Blackjack is a classic card game played in casinos across the world. Blackjack is played against a dealer so even beginners are up against the same opponent as the more experienced players.

In Blackjack (or 21 as it is sometimes known), a numerical value is attributed to each card and players must try to build a hand totalling 21, or as close to that as possible. Players must not go over 21 though, this would declare them ‘bust’ and out of the round. Players are initially dealt 2 cards each by the dealer. Face cards(Jacks, Kings and Queens) carry a value of 10 whilst an Ace can be valued at 1 or 11 as you see fit. Other cards carry the value stated on them. Players bet on th strength of their 2 card hand and then play by requesting more cards from the dealer or choosing to ‘stick’ with what they have. Once all players are done, the dealer plays to see if they can beat what the others have.

The winner is the person with 21 or the player closest. A perfect Blackjack hand that will always win is an Ace and a Face Card.
